Any reference to โ€œweโ€ or โ€œusโ€ in this privacy policy shall mean VM Group. This privacy policy applies to all communication channels and/or touch points owned and operated by The VM Group.

Throughout this privacy policy โ€œyouโ€ means the customer and/or prospective customer.

We believe you deserve the utmost respect when it comes to the security and use of your personal information, so we have described how we look after your information as clearly as possible.

1. Information we collect

We collect information about you, which you provide to us through our branches, offices, websites, kiosks and written communications to us.

In addition to the personal and financial information you submit (or we collect), we may collect information about your computing including, where available, your IP address, and operating system
We may also record and/or monitor calls for quality checks and staff training.

2. Information we hold

We will hold information about you including: name, address, phone numbers, email address, date of birth, employment and banking and financial details.

We will also hold information about you regarding instances of you contacting us and when we contact you.
This information includes your address, contact numbers, identification information and personal data related to your identity.

We will hold any other information which we reasonably need to operate your account and/or to fulfil our regulatory obligations.

3. How we will use information about you

We will use your personal information to take steps to enter into a contract with you and/or to perform the contract we have with you pursuant to article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulation. We will use your information to maintain your business or financial relationship with us, to also help identify, develop or improve products that may be of interest to you. We will use your personal information to contact you by email, SMS, letter, telephone or in any other way about our products and services; unless you tell us that you prefer not to receive unsolicited marketing communications.

The information will be used to enable us to monitor and analyse our business and carry out market research. This information may be provided to independent external bodies such as governmental market research agencies only when requested by law.

Your data may also be used for other purposes for which you give your permission or where we are permitted to do so by law or it is in the public interest to disclose the information or is otherwise permitted under the terms of the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 1998.

4. Your right to object to direct marketing

You have the right to object to direct marketing. Please inform us of your objection by either calling us at 876-754-8627, or email at manager@myvmgroup.com or by unsubscribing to unsolicited emails received.

5. Information we share

We will keep your personal information confidential and only share it with others for the purposes explained in this policy.

We will not under any circumstances sell or share your data with third party marketing companies. We may however share the following information about you:

  • Within The VM Group locations globally;
  • With any payment system we may use;
  • With regulatory and governmental authoritiesโ€™ ombudsmen, or other authorities, including tax authorities, including those overseas, where we are requested by them to do so.

6. Your right to restrict processing

You have the right to request that we restrict how we use your personal information except, as previously mentioned, where we are obliged by law to disclose. For example, you have the right to request that you want us to use your personal information for some purposes and not for others. You can do so by emailing us at manager@myvmgroup.com.

7. Access to your own information

You have the right to request a copy of the information which we hold about you. This is called a Data Subject Access Request, which you can make by writing to the UK Representative Office or Our Chief Offices at 8-10 Duke Street, Kingston, Jamaica. We may charge an administrative fee when a request is manifestly unfounded or repetitive. We may also charge a further administrative fee when you request for us to provide further copies of the information already provided to you.

It is to be noted that you have the right to request access to your personal information in a machine-readable format such as Excel or CSV file if you require.

8. Rectify inaccurate information

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate. We will respond to your request within one (1)month of receiving your request.

9. Your right to erasure

You have the right to request that we erase your personal information in certain circumstances such as when it is no longer required to meet the purpose we initially collected your personal information. You can do so by emailing us at manager@myvmgroup.com.

10. Your right to withdraw consent

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, subject to you providing us with adequate notice of not less than forty-five (45) business days and you have executed and delivered to our office the relevant documents that authorises us to communicate with you by email. You can do so by emailing us at manager@myvmgroup.com.

11. Right to make a complaint to the Information Commissionerโ€™s Office

You have the right to make a complaint to the ICO if you are unhappy about how we handle your personal information. Please do so by following this link https://ico.org.uk/concerns/ or calling the ICO on 0303 123 1113.

12. Transfer of information

Your personal information is domiciled on our servers in Jamaica, outside of the UK. We ensure the information is held securely to standards, at least, as good as those in the UK and only used for the purposes set out in this privacy policy. We will ensure that your personal information which is domiciled outside the UK is protected by entering into a written agreement with the non-UK organisation external to VM to obtain a contractual undertaking that your personal information will be held securely.

13. Third party links

Our website contain links to third party websites of other companies within the VM Group. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites maintain similar terms and privacy policies, which you are advised to read.

14. Changes to our privacy policy
